THE BRIDAL STYLING PROCESS

Every bride requires a unique approach.

Step one is a casual meet and greet. We’ll get to know each other over FaceTime, chai lattes, or dirty martinis. Much like hiring an interior designer or a hair stylist, it’s very important that we’re a good match and vibe well together. Next up is distilling what elements make up your personal style and how to interpret that into a bridal vision. I’ll create a style guide that includes a few designers and dresses that might fit your particular groove. And finally, we shop! I’ll book you appointments at the right boutiques, pull gowns that match your style, and answer all your questions about bustles, alterations, and accessorizing. Most importantly, I’ll be with you every step of the way to make sure you end up with the wedding dress of your dreams.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

LET ME ANSWER A FEW OF YOUR BURNING QUESTIONS.

Think of a bridal stylist as your personal wedding day wardrobe consultant. I specialize in helping brides find their wedding dress, veil, accessories, and even outfits for other wedding-related events (think rehearsal dinners and bridal showers). But most importantly, I make the process of finding your wedding dress easy and stress-free. Many brides embark on an endless journey of going from shop to shop, trying on dress after dress, only to end up overwhelmed and confused. But with a bridal stylist, there’s no more guessing. I’ll come up with a short list of designers and boutiques that match your style, vision, budget, and timeline. I can also schedule appointments, pre-shop the selection, and attend try-ons with you to lend support and keep you on track. You’ll have an industry expert by your side the whole way, so you can feel confident and beautiful when the big day comes.

Hell yes! You’ve got enough on your plate. Let me make it really easy on you by creating a gorgeous look for your bridesmaids, groomsmen, grooms, mothers of the bride or groom, and just about any other wedding guest. (Even wedding pups!)

I thought you’d never ask! While my speciality is bridal fashion, I’ve styled brides for a host of other events. Engagement shoots, bridal showers, bachelorette parties, rehearsal dinners, honeymoons, and so much more. The sky’s the limit!

On the day of your wedding, I’ll be on-site to first steam and prep your wedding dress and any other bridal garments. All those pesky wrinkles from the garment bag and/or travel will be gently and professionally coaxed out. Next, I help you into your gown, ensuring proper closure and fit. Next, I remain on-site to assist with styling bridal portraits, carrying and fluffing your train and veil to ensure there’s no damage prior to walking down the aisle. After the ceremony, I can assist with outfit changes, touch ups, and any unexpected fashion emergencies like an errant splotch of makeup or a fallen button.

Excellent question. Ideally, you want to start 9-12 months in advance of your wedding. If that seems extremely early to you, keep in mind that the process of finding the dress can consist of multiple visits to multiple shops. Then once you’ve found your dress, it will need to be ordered from the designer. Some designers have a turnaround time of 4 months, while others require at least 6 months (but don’t worry, many designers also offer rush orders with an additional fee). And once you finally receive your wedding dress, you want to budget another 3-4 months for alterations.

But before you have a panic attack and feel like you’re too late to the party, I’ve worked with brides on much tighter deadlines. So even if your wedding is in 4 months and you still haven’t found a dress, I’ll help you find a solution that’s perfect for you.

I love to accessorize! I’m more than happy to help brides find their veil, wedding shoes, wedding jewelry, bridal lingerie, reception dress, and just about anything else you can think of.

Custom wedding dresses require a little more care and attention to detail, but damn are they fabulous. Depending on what you have in mind, I have several wedding dress designers I’ve worked with before and can highly recommend for a one-of-a-kind garment. Get in touch to learn more.

There’s a style for every bride and I pride myself on really focusing on what makes you so special and unique. I’ve worked with boho brides, glam brides, minimal brides, and so on. This process is all about you and what makes you feel beautiful, so don’t worry about being pigeonholed into one bridal category.
